The 2023 DCI World Championship began Aug. 10 at Lucas Oil Stadium with Thursday's prelims that featured the best of the best drum corps in the country competing for the DCI Founders Trophy. 

Thirty corps arrived in Indianapolis with the goal of being included in DCI Finals on Saturday and the prelims featured more than 12 hours of performances as the event narrowed its list of teams to the final 12 over two days.

The Blue Devils came away with the prelims' highest score at 97.88, with Carolina Crown, Boston Crusaders and the Bluecoats close behind.
