Carolina Crown's home show, NightBEAT, is here! Check out some of the best corps in DCI going up against each other once again in North Carolina!
If, like me, you won't be able to catch the DCI Southeastern regional in Atlanta on Saturday, you are in luck, as eleven of last year's (and, so far, this year's) World Class top thirteen make their way to Winston-Salem and Wake Forest University for Carolina Crown's annual NightBEAT home show. Not only do you a lineup that makes this show a regional in its own right, not only do you have Reliable Rondo announcing the show, but you can catch the show on FloMarching!

While we still have that Atlanta regional before then, there are already some exciting storylines shaping up:
The Race For First Is ON
After San Antonio, it's currently a three-way fight for the championship, with the Bluecoats, Blue Devils, and the Santa Clara Vanguard all within one point of each other. The two blue teams have been neck and neck over the past week, with the gap between Bloo and BD mere tenths between each other. So far, the Bluecoats have remained undefeated this season, but don't count the Blue Devils out yet.
A Caption-less Champion?
In 1991, Star of Indiana won the DCI championship while tying for first in three captions. This was the first time a corps had won the title without winning a single caption outright. At San Antonio, the Bluecoats were 2nd in General Effect, second in Visual, and second in Music. When the numbers were tabulated, however, Bluecoats were on top of the heap. Could whoever finishes first in Indy do so without winning a single caption?
The Fight For Twelfth Continues
In San Antonio, it seemed like Phantom Regiment made a statement that they had a finalist position locked up, with nearly two points separating them from thirteenth place Spirit of Atlanta. Two nights later, however, Spirit cut that deficit to just seven tenths of a point. We still need to see how scores shake out in Atlanta, but, as with San Antonio, the results on Saturday don't determine the rest of the season.
