Here's everything you need to know while you're watching the 2019 DCI World Championships this weekend LIVE on FloMarching, August 8-10.
With over 35 corps performing in DCI World Championship prelims on Thursday, it can be hard to keep up with all of the interesting storylines, fantastic artistry, and ups and downs competitively. So, we've put together this guide to help you keep a pulse on some of the biggest focal points of the 2019 season so that you can fully enjoy this weekend's festivities!

- Who will win this battle of the blues after more than 4 lead changes over the last few weeks?
- Can the Blue Devils clean up in visual and music enough to top Bloo's GE domination?

- Carolina Crown Makes Timely Surge Upward
- Over the last week, Carolina Crown has made serious improvements in their score, putting them within striking distance of Santa Clara Vanguard.
- Crown's strongest captions have been the music caption, which they won in the final show of the season, TOC - Akron.
- The Cavaliers / Boston Crusaders' Ebb And Flow
- In San Antonio, the Boston Crusaders were about 1 point above The Cavaliers. One week later in Atlanta, the two were only separated by 0.0625.
- The day after Atlanta, The Cavaliers passed Boston for the first time in 2019 at NightBEAT with a gap of 1.125, and only 0.175 behind the 4th place Carolina Crown.
- In the DCI Eastern Classic, Cavaliers topped Boston by just 0.675, cutting their previous gap in half.

- Blue Stars / Blue Knights / The Cadets
- These three were a bit of a toss-up for the first half of the season, but once the regionals started coming, the spots seemed to become more and more secure.
- Blue Knights are currently leading this pack with a most recent score of 89.550 in Akron, The Cadets earned an 89.400 that same night in Edinboro.
- The last time all three were together was NightBEAT. Blue Knights led that show between the three by a gap of nearly one full point over Blue Stars. The Cadets followed Blue Stars by just 0.200.
- Phantom Passes Crossmen
- On the final night of competition before DCI World Championship prelims, Phantom Regiment pulled into the 11-spot by passing Crossmen by just 0.150.
- Mandarins, currently in the 10-spot, earned an 87.800 at the same event.

- All Eyes On Pacific Crest
- Pacific Crest are THE corps to watch in this final week.
- The corps has taken huge strides this season, reaching the corps' highest score ever of 83.60 on August 5th.
- They currently sit in the mix with Colts and The Academy, putting them in prime position to make moves towards finals should they continue this progress in future seasons.
