This is the 2021 Veterans Memorial High School Indoor Percussion Group from San Antonio, Texas. The ensemble has competed in events such as TECA and TCGC. This is the 3rd year competing in TCGC. The VMHS Indoor Percussion Group is proud to present this years ensemble, playing Lucid Mantra, written by Dustin Schulze. Lucid Mantra is large ensemble piece Lucid Mantra centers around a continuous 16th-note groove started by the marimbas and subsequently carried throughout the ensemble. Schulze sought to create a jazz/funk inspired piece and, in his own words, the piece has a “highly syncopated texture, while still maintaining a deep pocket.”
