2017 DCI World Class Rankings: Week 1

It can be a daunting task to keep track of all of the World Class corps as they make their way throughout the United States to perform at over 100 DCI shows. However, we've simplified it down to the 12 highest-scoring corps based on the specific data points listed. Before you dive into the numbers, please read through each of the points below the rankings that describes how each column applies to the ranking period. The World Class Weekly Rankings will come out each Thursday with the last one coming on the day of the 2017 DCI World Championship Prelims.

Blue Knights' Eye-Catching New Look

In our "From The Tower" podcast from last Thursday, FloMarching's staff discussed the trend of uniforms progressing from being iconically characteristic of their corps to becoming more show-centric. We also looked at how The Academy found a perfect balance with its 2017 uniforms between sporting recognizable "formal wear" and a design that is reflective of its newest production, "By A Hare." Well, the Blue Knights have managed to find that equilibrium as well.

Fun With The Academy's Daily Schedules

The Academy joins Carolina Crown in the "Awesome Daily Schedules" club, this week. Everyone who has participated in marching band knows that one of hardest things to do is to wake up in the morning with a smile on your face after a day full of rehearsal. The volunteers and administrative staff have taken it into their hands to provide the corps with enlightening quotes and funny themes when they arrive at the food truck for breakfast.
